Transport Canada Rules
- Pilot certification: Anyone flying a drone weighing 250 g or more must obtain a Basic or Advanced Drone Pilot Certificate from Transport Canada.
- Registered drones: All drones over 250 g must be registered with Transport Canada and display a registration number on the aircraft.
- Respect airspace and people: Stay at least 30 metres away from bystanders and avoid restricted airspace around airports, heliports and emergency operations.
- Visual line of sight: Always keep your drone within sight, avoid flying at night or in clouds, and never fly higher than 122 metres (400 feet) above ground level.
